BCS Transformation
In September 2009 the British Computer Society rebranded itself simply as
BCS. However, ongoing changes are affecting more than the name and
logo. Further information can be found at the BCS
website.
Annual General Meeting
More than 40 people attended our branch AGM in May 2009. A PDF
version of the minutes is available. Our next AGM will take place
on 8th September 2010. Everyone is welcome. More details will be available
soon.
Roy Newell 1927–2010
It is with deep regret that the BCS Sussex branch announces
the sad loss of Roy Newell
at the age of 82. Roy was a founder member of the British Computer
Society and of our branch, as well as several other organisations.
Roy died on Saturday 24th July following a cardiac arrest
after suffering a stroke earlier this year. The funeral service
will be held on Wednesday 4th August at 1pm at the Sacred Heart Church,
39 Norton Road, Hove BN3 3BF.
